1 tablespoon oil for cooking

500g ground pork 

3/4 cup fried Shallots (packet)

1 clove garlic, minced or chopped

1/2 teaspoon five-spice powder

1 teaspoons sugar

1/4 cup dark soy sauce

1/4 cup light soy sauce

1/2 cup Chinese rice wine (Shaoxing)

1/2 cup water

1 1/2 cup long grain rice

2 1/4 cups water

Bunch of broccolini

Lu Rou Fan - Braised Pork with Rice with Steamed Broccolini

Lu Rou Fan means “stewed meat rice” - it is a dish of braised pork or minced pork, with a rich sauce served on steamed rice. It normally has a boiled egg served on the side, and can also be accompanied by vegetables.

It is thought that the dish originated in China during the Zhou Dynasty, and over time migrated to Taiwan where it became a comfort food.
